Why We Built This Site
North Carolina gives the public access to many court records through the North Carolina Public Records Law, G.S. 132-1 and G.S. 132-6, while court-specific records are also governed by clerk record-keeping rules such as G.S. 7A-109. The hard part is knowing which office holds the file. In Vance County, the Clerk of Superior Court handles court case files, certified county criminal record searches, estates, special proceedings, divorce judgments, traffic court records, and public terminals at 156 Church St, Suite 101, Henderson, NC 27536. The Sheriff and Detention Center handle law-enforcement and custody information, while the Register of Deeds handles marriage records and other recorded instruments. We organize those offices, portals, fees, and request paths by record type.

- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
